The food was pretty tasty, with good portion sizes. Very good basil eggplant. Only thing - beware of their vegetarian section if you don't want meat. A lot of dishes that are marked as vegetarian in the menu have pork (but at least it's mentioned) - but the beancurd we ordered also had generous slices of pork though it wasn't part of the description at all.

I was quite disappointed tonight with both food and service. We haven't been here for over 2 years, and my first review was 5 out of 5 stars. Today, I give it a 2 because 1-we came for their famous dumpling and were told only upon ordering that they don't make it tonight. Then we went on to order Chinese chives pancakes, were told they don't have it either. Went on to order something else, and were told the same thig again. So I went on and asked "how about you tell me everything you don't have tonight". The waitress proceeded to point at another few items we wanted. Sigh. 2-the food came out quickly and when I tried the food, it was cold...it should have been steaming hot coming out of the kitchen which wasn't. 3-we arrived before 2 other guests, yet they got their order in first, served first before they even bother to take our order. 4-we asked for to-go boxes multiple times to 2 different is staff, and again, service is not so great, they went on clearing tables (no lines up or anything) before taking care of current clients. 5- the food is nothing like it used to be. I am a hard critic and saying that Chinese food was the best there means something, to go back and the food was changed to satisfy the caucasian's palate...means I could simply go to any Chinese food court and get the same food...sorry, brutally honest but I wont be coming back here. Such a disappointment unfortunately because 2 years ago, I was highly recommending this place to all my friends and family.
Possibly the best Chinese in the neighbourhood, although I mostly order things off of the non-western menu. If you order one of the larger soups, be prepared to get an ENORMOUS soup for a very reasonable price. Dumplings will not set your pants on fire, but they are very nice and homemade.
Had the most terrible experience ordering from this restaurant on skip the dishes app. Took about two hours to get here, and the restaurant had the audacity to complete my order without delivering my food after a wait time of an hour an a half. So i decided to call the place to see what happened and why i hadnt gotten my order and they told me because i hadnt tipped while making my order through the app (ps like any normal person, i tip AFTER receiving my order/when the service has been completed/delivered) safe to say i will NEVER be ordering nor going to this restaurant ever again. I cant believe this place actually expected a tip after billing me and NOT delivering my order. If you do not know how to use the skip the dishes app or have basic common sense. Just remove yourself off the app. That simple. Im absolutely appalled.
We didn't expect much from this restaurant. The entrance is rather shabby, it's even hard to see it's actual name. The decoration is extremely simple, definitely not sophisticated. However, we were impressed by the food. It is very authentic Chinese food, mainly from North China. I couldn't help but notice that Chinese people speaking mostly Mandarin were sitting in every single table. This immediately increased its credibility to me. We ordered three different dishes plus rice. Apart from one of the dishes that was slightly too salty, we enjoyed everything. The prices were fantastic too, we were very full and we could still take the leftover back home. Other positive points: - service was rather quick. The attendant was super busy with the other tables, but he managed to serve us within 10 minutes. - toilet was surprisingly clean.
Umm.. WOW. So this is not your typical Chinese restaurant. They seem to have their own spin on things. I've walked past this place dozens of times, never really having the courage to place an order. Tonight was the night. And WOW! Very fresh, HOT, and generous portions. Everything was flavorful and freshly cooked. You could tell that they use their own recipes vs using a canned sauce. I followed recommendations and ordered the peanut butter dumplings. Never had anything like it! What a pleasant surprise. Very pleased. Can't wait to order again!
Fills any craving for chinese take out. Its not really healthy, and its over-salted and greasy, but compared to alot of chinese take out, its pretty good. The dinner for one is a good deal - you'll have some left overs, which is great cause you'll be hungry about an hour afterwards. The vegetables are nicely a little crunchy. Soup very clear salty broth, and the wontons have too much wrapping (2 star wonton soup). Overall if you are craving decently priced chinese take out, its the best in verdun.
Place is cheap and delicious! They also delivered to us in verdun very quickly in about 15 mins
