I moved to the neighbourhood about 6 months ago and thought I had discovered a hidden gem! Decent coffee, affordable prices and friendly service. However, over the last month I’ve experienced disrespectful service and questionable food. In regards to the food, it was nothing special to begin with, however the sandwiches were affordable. A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted lettuce added to my tuna sandwich, without being informed of the 1 price. 1 for a SINGLE leaf of ROTTING lettuce! Keep in mind that nothing else comes with the sandwich, so if you want anything other than tuna and bread you will be paying more. In regards to the service, on different occasion I came in with my daughter and waited in line. However, a man who I assume was friends with the owners was behind me in line was warmly greeted and served before me and all other patrons. I was brushed off very rudely and had told I had to wait longer. While this is to be expected, it was certainly shocked by how casually I was skipped - typically there would be some remorse on the part of the owner. But no, skipped and told to wait longer. It only exasperated the situation that the wait times are already so long. I thought this was very unfair, and other people in line agreed - a few of us walked out after that. I was sad and frankly feel a little guilty about writing such a negative review about a small business like this, but this type of mistreatment is very unacceptable. It’s important the community be aware - I will have to find a new neighbourhood spot!

Great bakery bakery overall, and a hidden gem for lunch. They have a veal sandwich with cheese, sauce and stewed veggies on one of their fresh buns, that is one of my favourite sandwiches in the city. Cheap too, at 7.50, and so, so good.

Venezia is a good local bakery. Has been around for many years. Always pop in to get new desserts to try or the traditional desserts. Sound are really good as well

Giving it 2 stars for customer service. I work close by, it's one of my favorite places to get tarts, soups, or the patty's from. But unfortunately the attitude behind the counters, particularly the person at the register is beyond rude. it's rather a shame. Completely ruins the entire experience of supporting local businesses.

Beautiful bakery on Ossington that has GOOD ESPRESSO at the right price. All the baked goods are made on site by the owner. The owner is actually Portuguese, so you're getting great stuff! The service is friendly and efficient. Don't cross the street to the chain coffee places for 4 a cup. Grab a quick espresso and enjoy the chit chat and local community. Also - the custard egg tarts are as close to Portugal as you'll get here.
