He started his medical career in 1985 by obtaining his medical degree (MD) from the University of British Columbia, where he continued with his General Surgery and Vascular Surgery training. Dr. Hunter has worked as a General Surgeon and Vascular Surgeon for over twenty-five years. The present affiliation is with the Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He has been a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia Department of Surgery throughout his career mentoring and teaching both medical students and surgical residents. He has a special interest in outpatient assessment and treatment of varicose veins.
