I needed some beginner yarn for a gift and found everything I needed. The staff was helpful and detail oriented. I love the bamboo needles I got. The price was reasonable and the quality was great. Can't wait to come back again!

Beautiful yarn sold here for knitting of all kinds! I got the Illimani Santi II yarn and made a hat and head warmer out of it. The yarn is real soft, easy to knit, and the colour absolutely gorgeous. I also love the logo of the sheep whose umbrella is being blown away. Absolutely adorable.
I’m disappointed that the store is closed. There’s nothing noting this on the google maps, it actually says their open today from 11-5. I understand because of Covid but a notice would have been nice so I didn’t have to drive out from Richmond. I see the notice is on their website but maybe update google as well.
I haven't visited any other LYS, but I instantly felt comfortable in this store once I entered. The staff are helpful and answered any questions I had about patterns and yarns (I've just started knitting) and they are all friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be visiting again for any other knitting needs!
It had been at least 2 years since my last Vancouver visit ... And 2 Butter Tarts, a Nanaimo Bar, and half a bag of Cheezies later, it was past the point of no return and so I experienced yarn ecstasy issues ... ... I blame the FULL MOON! But Monday Knit Night was well attended with a warm welcome and lively conversations! West Coast Yarns carries a wise selection of Canada-sourced yarns and it is a place where the born-again Cowichan Sweaters is a THING; They have homegrown Canadian Cowichan yarn; And OMG I have a bag of Canadian yarn, a new set of interchangeable cable needles — and I am left wondering ... Who?!? Added raisins to our iconic Butter Tarts??!
