I had such a wonderful experience with this place! I was walking by and was drawn to the warmth of the owner's kind smile. It is family owned, and the chef happily answered my questions and accommodated my dietary request. She also shared a beautiful story with me, and I left feeling a warmth in my heart and tummy :) Thank you for such a beautiful experience! Very reasonably priced with great portions!

Amazing home-style comfort/soul food cooked with heart. Finally had the chance to check this long-standing local eatery and it was a great experience. Despite being shorthanded, the co-owner, who is busy doing everything on her own - cooks, serves, take calls simultaneously - was so gracious and welcoming. Food was made to order and so delicious. Jerk chicken was juicy and tasty. And who'd expect to find the best damn Okonomiyaki in Canada at this Caribbean centric restaurant (they are advertised as serving "Japaribbean" cuisine) one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life, incredible, must try!! Relaxing, warm, and clean atmosphere in an old heritage building just good vibes all around. Will definitely revisit. Nice to see an establishment that cares come out and support local businesses such as this. Thank you for such a nice meal and experience!
I had a lovely visit for lunch with my fiancée on a Saturday. Ken was lovely greeting us, welcoming us to dine inside and we had two different dishes, a great Carribean curry for me and a jerk chicken for the lady. I am happy to see the place to be busy and Junko had done an incredible job looking after us and multiple customers. What really stands out to me is the unique warmth, love and community atomsphere of the place. I look forward to coming back soon for more Japaribean or trying out the breakfast. This is a special place and I am glad to have visited
one of the best places to eat and support in this neighbourhood. the owners are extremely sweet and good. the food is home style cooking and have a great price point. they feed me well
Oxtail is tasty. Really good value for the price. Owners are nice too. Will be back
A great neighbourhood family-run business. We popped by for breakfast as we had been meaning to try this place for awhile. Had the all-day breakfast which is great value for the food (I couldn't finish). The pan-fried potatoes in particular were excellent - creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Will definitely be back to try the dinner and lunch options. Junko and Ken have been running Lion's Den for 21 years and this is the type of local gem that I want to support. They even keep a calendar that documents each day they've been open and you can tell they've really dedicated their lives to running this business.
Enjoyed the eats but loved the experience. First time i got greeted off with " Have a creative day." Got to sign under #7400 on their calendar. Felt like a tourist a bit. Definitely coming back.
From the moment you step in that place team give you an agreeable feeling. Very warm stuff, it is a friendly restaurant to enjoy with friends or with your date. Excellent meals, experienced chef de cuisine, reasonable price and professional service. Warmly recommended.
