My youngest son is 15 now and has been learning the game of basketball through Split Second and before that, through classes put on by Eric and John at the Arbutus Club for perhaps 10 years now. We have been part of many different programs and club teams but Eric and Split Second are by far the best program there is. Their incredible growth is a testament to how good their program, coaching and organization is. All of the coaches know the game and know how to impart that knowledge to all ages and levels of players. The classes, camps, open gyms and particularly the cobra club teams are an incredible resource to those that play basketball and want to improve their game. Our family cannot thank Eric and Split Second enough for the avenue they have provided our son to pursue his love of basketball.

I have seen you folks training at the richmond oval back then while I used to play there. I didn't start playing basketball until midway through college. Are there any programs for adults?
My daughters are part of the Cobra’s at Split Second and we are thrilled with the program. The coaching is fantastic, they are pushed to work hard in a supportive way. They come away from practice very tired and happy. They are no longer afraid to make mistakes which I attribute to the positive coaching environment. Another extremely important part of Split Second for our family has been their support of multi sport athletes. My daughter’s play soccer and volleyball as well and sometimes there is conflict. Coaches have always been supportive of this and never push them to focus on basketball alone. Our family is thankful to have found Split Second and be a part of the Cobra family!
The culture that Eric Butler has created at Split Second is amazing! All the coaches are motivated and focused on developing the kids on all aspects of the game. Their approach is fun, encouraging and very detailed oriented to \play the right way\. Every time you walk into the gym you feel the family atmosphere and energy of the coaches, athletes and parents. My daughter has been coached by Adriano for the past nine months, as part of the Cobra program. His infectious love of the game and pure joy to teach and get the best out of all kids is off the charts. His coaching has been a revelation for my daughter and she constantly says, \it is so great to have a coach believe in me and care about my development. Adriano is always so kind and encouraging\.
Split second is a club that is great all around. From the coaching and the training that they offer allows all the players the option to train and improve their skills and development. I have seen huge improvements in my daughters growth as a player and continue to see her abilities grow. Very friendly and fun environment for the kids while striving for that competitive edge.
