Very cool menu for good prices. Had an Udon hot plate and it was amazing. Highly recommended.

Fresh and vibrant food, and exceptionally friendly staff! The seating area was quiet during lunch, which is a real shame since this restaurant is top notch. Happily adding this to my work lunch rotation.

No MSG No Garlic Foodie

Ordered four dishes, fourth one never came. This is a Korean style Japanese restaurant on the quiet side of Hamilton Street. First impression is that they are under-staffed. A similar size Japanese restaurant in the area has two or three times more servers. We enjoyed the agadashi tofu.. Very crispy and tasty, 5 stars for that. Next came the salmon sashimi. The temperature of the fish is a bit warmer than we would have preferred. The texture of the fish confirmed that it is not as “fresh from the freezer” as it should have been. 3 stars. The third dish that came was the pop-corn ebi. The little pieces of fried ebi tasted good but was smothered in sauce. Most of the bowl was filled with fried panko crust. I imagine we are supposed to dip the shrimps with the mayo sauce to catch some of the fried panko crust. But the panko crust was so greasy that we didn’t really touch it that much. It is a very unhealthy dish – not sure if that dish should be on the menu the way it is. 2 stars. After such a “fried” dish, we were really looking forward to our fourth and final dish – Oden – ordered for the purpose of cleaning our palette. We waited and waited. Since the wait-person repeated to us the items we ordered at the beginning, we thought that they were just taking a long time cooking the oden from scratch. Usually, oden is pre-cooked. The server was too busy to check with us to see if we were missing anything or if we wanted to order more food. Finally, after half and hour, we asked how much longer it will take and were told with apologies that the dish was never ordered. I was quite disappointed as I was really looking forward to a change in taste buds. 2 stars for experience.

Hands down the best izakaya! It’s just different from the rest. Atmosphere, food, service. Everything is a perfect combo. The people running the place are top notch. Super friendly with excellent service. My all time favourite sashimi is so nice and fresh and if you’re longing for spicy food, seafood champon may blow your mind. Great sake and drink selection as well. Perfect place to get drunken night away. Highly recommended!
