I've taken two classes with Justine, one in-person class which was the Vision Board class, and the introduction to brush pen calligraphy class which I took on-line. Both were great experiences. In both classes, I was impressed by Justine's knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for social justice. She really makes you feel at ease, and goes out of her way to personalize the experience for her students. The class atmosphere was always supportive and caring. I would highly recommend taking a class if you are interested in learning more!

I'm always amazed by how much I learn from Justine's workshops. Within a short time, she equips you with foundational skills and inspires you with relatable stories of her own learning journey. I especially love her beautiful workbooks which contain detailed how-to guides (printed for in-person workshops and downloadable for online workshops). It's so great to be able to reference those workbooks as I continue to explore calligraphy at home. I'll also mention that I have partnered with Justine on a group workshop and I'm impressed by Justine's ability to bring people together in a relaxed, friendly setting. She even prepared homemade hummus to help set the tone for a nourishing space! Talk about attention to detail. I highly recommend working with Justine!

We had the pleasure of meeting and collaborating with Justine when she ran a calligraphy workshop in partnership with Homeroom. Justine's ability to make calligraphy feel accessible and fun to all skill levels, facilitate open conversation, and build a sense of connection among a group was so inspiring to see and learn from. She made a phenomenal workshop partner. She was so flexible in following our processes, and really helped make sure the event went off without a hitch! We would work with her again in a heartbeat :)

Justine's workshops are brilliant in every way. She sets a beautiful tone that immediately puts everyone at ease and allows you to relax and become present (not something I find easy normally!) before diving straight into the learning. I've tried both her brush lettering and vision board workshops and found both of them really enjoyable, but was particularly impressed with the lettering workshop as I walked away with so much knowledge and confidence to continue working on it in my own time, despite previously struggling to keep it up due to frustration and a lack of progress. Justine is incredibly knowledgeable and a fantastic instructor, but also brings something rare to her workshops which is a safe space to connect with yourself and the other attendees, to experiment (and make mistakes!) with zero judgement, and to spend a few hours being blissfully mindful. Worth every penny -- and much more!

I have taken three workshops from Justine, one on creating vision boards, one on learning how to layout a design using words, and an introductory class on calligraphy types and tools. I have taken these classes online and in person. What I love about the workshops is that she begins each workshop with reminders and best practices for a good environment for learning something new. She sets a calming learning environment where we can all learn together no matter our abilities, and the inspiration to keep practicing afterwards. What I especially love is her honesty about dealing with projects in work. Sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself to make a project exactly what I envision, and she pointed out that we are human, sometimes unexpected things happen when we are creating, and instead of thrashing ourselves for "mistakes", she suggests that we stop, step back and think about how to embrace the unexpected development. That was so helpful for me to consider! Justine encourages people to share their projects in work and things we are practicing, and it's such a wonderful, low stress way to learn something new. I'll be taking more classes for sure, and have been practicing what I learned. I have found that practicing the art of calligraphy is helpful for me and gives me another way to express myself and my thoughts.️
