I have dealt with Keith Changfoot at DMCL for almost 12 years now and have always been extremely satisfied with his work. He seems to have a immediate answer to any question or has a answer in a timely manner. He is on top of all things accounting and I would not hesitate recommending him or his firm to anyone. Also with regards to billings you get what you pay for is a good analogy. I look forward to having Keith handle all my business and personal matters or any international issues. It's nice to have peace of mind with regards to my accounting.

Referred to Michael Auras for tax return. I’m self-employed with a relatively straight forward return but I wanted to ensure I’ve done everything right. No contact from Michael after one month of leaving him email request to follow up. Contacted by his admin assistant and likely my return was completed by his assistant accountant even though they charged me for his rates. Quoted rate higher than other accountants I researched. Unsatisfying and poor communication with him. I should’ve used Simple Tax as I would’ve had better help from a virtual program. NOT recommended for any individuals who are self employed.

The Man. The Myth. The Legend. The CPA I would recommend to anyone. Let's talk about my main man Marcus Brandt. I have worked with a range of CPA's. From the dude from H&R Block, to my family business' CPAs, and CPAs referred to me by friends. I have experienced a range of professionalism and knowledge and Marcus still stands out. When I came to Marcus at the end of 2019 it was because I was in a bit of a tax pickle and needed to ensure I found someone who could unpickle me. I had moved here from the states and really did't want to start my life up here with f*cked up taxes. I met with Marcus (and Brad Robin, also good at his job) and decided that he would be a good fit. I was not wrong. I got my quote, stared at it for a while because yes, they are expensive, and took the plunge. Marcus has been worth every penny. I needed my 2017-2019 taxes done and through no fault of his own, that process has only just concluded. Now if you've been paying attention you'll realize that this process took a YEAR. A WHOLE YEAR. This was partly because of COVID-19, but mostly because my US CPA is really fond of just ghosting me and my requests, there were some paperwork delays and admittedly, I'm also a bit slow to respond sometimes. During this year long dumpster fire of a quest to just get my taxes done & filed, Marcus was always candid and kind. He is knowledgeable, sincere, patient, responsive, a clear communicator, and is truly dedicated to doing his job well. He's worth it. All this to say that Marcus Brandt deserves a raise, a puppy, and your business. And not necessarily in that order.
