Beginner class at Claytek is so worth the cost. Along with the class you get unlimited access to the studio for the duration of your class. Pottery is pretty difficult and requires loads of practice before you can throw a piece without it collapsing, so the extra time is necessary. The instructor is patient and understanding, and doesn't judge you when you ruin a piece (even if you totally judge yourself). Can't wait to spend more time with my 20lbs of clay!
Lovely place! Great people
Took a Beginner Wheel class and it was really good value, definitely worth the price. We learned a lot in each class, the material was broken down by lessons really well. The instructor, Alysha (sp?) is knowledgeable and experienced. She is really good at rewording the explanation and presenting it in a different way if you don't understand something the first time, a great resource. Either manager is at the studio during drop-in hours which is helpful when you inevitably have a question, the other members were open to sharing their experience as well. The studio never felt crowded, it is also extremely clean and organized. As a beginner , I was satisfied with the tools and glazes available. Bonus points for the location and cuteness of the studio. (there is an amazing sandwich place and the best ice cream place close by)
I am currently taking the beginner pottery wheel class here. Great studio with knowledgeable instructors who do a fantastic job of walking you through the process and assisting when help is needed. I also think the pricing is more than fair for clay and classes.
