I used to be a regular here but I realized that the owners are just so rude to customers and they’re resentful of everything in general that I couldn’t stand the vibes anymore. The owner actually used to talk bad about other regular customers to me: People who consistently spend their hard earned money at this business! And I know so many other locals who have also boycotted the place, Im really surprised they’re still open. The food is also very average and they have like 2 or 3 beers on tap. It’s a shame because it’s a cool concept and great location.

I can not recommend this place in good conscience. We went because it was featured on You Gotta Eat Here which is typically a pretty good barometer. There were 4 of us on a Monday and it was not busy. There was one waitress/bartender and one person in the kitchen. We waited a long time for everything. I don’t blame staff. This is a management problem. The food was cold when we got it so it definitely affected the flavours. And I’m not suggesting it wasn’t hot off the grille, it was cool to the touch. The flavours were ok at best. The place is a dive, it’s dark as hell and the food was not worth seeking this place out specifically. The couple seated next to us got there after us and were served before us. If this was my only complaint then I wouldn’t even complain. The only plus I can give this place is that the prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for good bbq, keep looking.
A mainstay on Denman that is open late and a hand crafted menu has items that has me coming back to see Fiona almost every week lol, her food is remarkable with in house smoked BBQ options and fresh food ideas like \burger Monday\ where miraculous concoctions come alive in your mouth with the best ingredients available. Come to Vancouver for the food and stop in at Buckstop where you will be impressed every time especially with the exceptional service. Thank you and see you soon
