I'm on a mission to try every single high tea place in Vancouver. Things I liked about Adonia: cute and cozy interior, a vast tea selection, delicious savory and sweet high tea set for a great price, amazing service. Things I didn't like: maybe the teapots? Because they were just regular glass teapots. But I understand China teapots can be quite expensive. Definitely will be coming here again:)

As I mentioned earlier, this past year has seen an influx of shops which offer online sales. To be honest, it has made things more convenient… especially with the whole pandemic still going on. I like it because it gives us the chance to try out new places without having to leave the house (yes, I’m fully embracing the whole living-like-a-hermit way of life)… as long as I’ve got my sweetie by my side. Speaking of sweets, this past Valentine’s Day, I ordered the Amore Afternoon Tea Box (125) from Adonia Tea House (and arranged through Charcuterie Vancouver). This 30pc tea set includes a 50g bag of loose leaf tea and a selection of both savory and sweets so you can enjoy afternoon tea at home. The scones here are really good and we wound up visiting Adonia a few weeks later to pick up some more scones. It’s a bit too late to get this for Valentine’s Day but I’m sure they’ll have some more good offerings in the near future.

While the ambience and tea selection are authentic, the food was nothing short of amateurish. Toasted sandwiches were uninspired, over-toasted and contained rock-hard bacon. The bland-looking smoked salmon sandwich looked like it had been created by a child and the soup didn’t even match what you would get at a Tim Horton’s. Someone here has no idea what they’re doing. Pseudo Western food that is overpriced and totally misses the mark.

All four of us really enjoyed afternoon tea at Adonia. Beautiful, cozy spot, nicely decorated and great service. The sweet and savoury food items were all delicious and I loved the Irish cream tea. We look forward to going back.

Excellent service and amazing food! The portabella sandwich had such great flavors from the juicy portabella mushroom, fresh veggies and the tangy vinaigrette. The server checked in on us often and the space was thoroughly comfortable. Oh and did I say their home made buttery, flakey scones were to die for? So good that I packed another 6 home
