Love this Forest for hikes, great trails and quite popular. Please clean up after your pets. You can do several parts of the trail. Lots to see and experience. Very calm and relaxing

Feb 21, 2021 Good base in place for nordic skiing, snowshoeing, fatbike or just a walk through the winter woods. Parking is available if you get there early, otherwise it's on the shoulder of the road. The trail is well marked and is a spiderweb of different options enabling you to choose a loop that sort of lines up with the time you want to spend.

Best bike trails in Durham, summer and winter. Parking can be a bit of a problem on weekends if you arrive late.

I'm an avid hiker, cyclist and Equestrian. I use the Glen Major Forest trails regularly. They were not too bad until summer came into full swing. The trails are poorly maintained with trees blocking the trails, low hanging hawthorn tree branches and worst of all, the invasive plant species called "Strangling Dog-Vine" has overtaken the trail system and is choking out the forest. This plant is highly invasive and spreads via the 2800 seeds per flower/plant. I have spoken to the trail Authorities and they don't seem to care that it is destroying the forest. Highly disappointing trail system in comparison to York Region Trails.
