Maybe I'm biased because I've lived on the Sunshine Coast and completed my Open Water Course here years ago. Tuwanek is a beautiful site that offers three distinct dives sites in one location: Standing on land- you can dive the Right Islet, Left Islet and Bay. **Parking is limited so please be kind w/ the locals living in the area here and carpool when available** In the summer the Tuwanek offers beautiful views with Bull kelp, Moon Jelly blooms and many Kelp Greenling guarding their eggs. Between the cracks and crevices where disposed Crab carapaces/ bodies are littered, scuba divers may find Giant Pacific Octopus. Keep your eyes out for Buffalo Sculpin, Grunt Sculpins and Cabazons that blend in well. Many nudibranches can be found amongst the sand, rock walls and rock dwelling kelps, the spindly squiggly white things close by are egg cases housing thousands of baby nudis. Winter here at Tuwanek is just as unbelievable as summer, imagine, limited kelp beds, 100ft/30M visibility and all those amazing animals and more listed above. Check it out! Leave your Review, post your photos, and let our Scuba Diving Community know about the amazing local dive sites the Sunshine Coast offers

One of the Sunshine Coast’s hidden gems. Perfect dive site for all level of divers. Nice small picnic area and in a residential area so parking is tight. There’s even a local 4 legged resident that comes to greet you:) so bring doggie treats if you wish. No public restroom but a porta potty is available. Beautiful place to visit while on the coast.
