A terrific hike inside the town limits! There are several combinations of trails to choose from, each of which ramble through classic Canadian Shield landscape. Most go along the Winnipeg River system. Plan for between 1 and 2 hours of moderate terrain. It's not a dog park but many dogs are off leash. It's far from busy roads so an ideal spot for 4-footed hikers. For basic hiking bang for buck, Tunnel Island is hard to beat. Easy access, lots of parking and a good intro for children.

Perfect walking trails - short and up to 2/12 hours - no dangerous area
Nice day hike on a loop trail. Great scenery and pleasant atmosphere.
A nice steady walk. The Voyageur section is well shaded and the rest is in and out of the trees. Go on a day with a breeze or the bugs could be annoying.
Beautiful spot to spend the day walking / hiking. There are a variety of trail lengths to choose from. I would recommend bringing water and snacks. No public bathrooms though. Close to downtown Kenora.
