This review is about a cashier named Jen. This morning I went into the store to purchase some items. I was wearing a mask but left it under my nose as I have a disability that effects my breathing that my doctor has advised NOT to wear a mask at all, I wear one anyway because I would still like to provide myself some safety. I keep it under my nose so that I can still breathe as if I put it to cover all my airways, I cannot breathe at all and have even fainted before. When I advised Jen of this, she said to me “I don’t care, So do I” she then refused to scan my items until I put my mask above my nose. I advised her that the refusal to provide me service due to my health condition is discrimination. Under the personal information protection and electronic documents act, I am not required to disclose my medical condition to you. Canadian human rights act prohibits discrimination and by you refusing me to come on your premises or products and services based on my disability and inability to wear a face mask then I will launch a human rights complaints against you or your organization. Shame on your staff for not knowing the laws in Ontario. Shame on you Jen for giving me no choice but to leave over my disability. You need to be more empathetic to people who have serious health issues, this pandemic is enough of stress for everyone. I will be reporting you and filing a human rights complaint against this store and yourself.
