I have visited Tommy Thompson numerous times on foot and via bicycle. Bicycle is the way to go. Road, gravel, hybrid, what have you. The spit is mostly excavated land that is now home to an entire ecological system. Every now and then you find remnants of the human excess that makes up the land. A toilet seat here, a piece of granite countertop there, appropriately reminding the visitor of the the land's status as a flourishing dumpster.

This is a beautiful place to get out for a walk in the city. There are trees, birds and a beautiful view of the lake. In the winter, the flotsam on the beach is turned into unexpected ice sculptures by the frozen water. It's a beautiful frozen landscape

What an incredible area to walk, bike, hike, explore. And wow how it has changed over the years. Our largest outdoor area in Toronto to enjoy walking, hiking, biking, bird watching, wildlife, fishing, sightseeing, photography, views of the city, views of Scarborough beaches, Lake Ontario, Toronto Island. Great work everyone involved in making this area enjoyable for all walks of life.

Amazing place for a long walk or bike ride. Wide open roads or meandering trails. Great for bird watching. Quite peaceful and open. Free parking at the entrance or on the streets nearby.
