We recently went for an afternoon tea as a birthday gift for my fiancées aunt and we had a great time chatting and enjoying different teas and treats. For around 50 you can enjoy a pot of tea with a top up on water, as well as a few treats brought on a multi-tier rack that is brought to you after having made a tea selection. The in-house-made food surprised me with how flavourful they were. Initially I didn’t think the portions were large enough to even remotely fill me up as a meal, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was satisfied after leaving this establishment. The service in the initial lobby area seems semi-unorganized, but I wouldn’t say it was terrible by any means as they do have people coming in fairly frequently. I would say that this is an experience one should have if you are a food connoisseur, or simply love tea.

I came here on a solo trip to Toronto and was seated in the smaller tea room. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, although he was quite concerned that I was dining by myself (I found this amusing since he is very obviously an extrovert and, being an introvert, I was actually overjoyed that I had the entire tea room to myself for the next hour). Don't get me wrong; he was awesome. I just found the presentation and food quite mediocre and rather bland. There were two giant scones (one plain, one with some cranberries) and they were way too dense and large. I forced myself to eat them both, but just getting through the first one was difficult. I wish one of them had been a more savory scone (maybe a cheesy herb?) or smaller in size for balance. The dessert combination was also too chocolatey (chocolate opera cake and another dense stick of chocolate). Overall, the entire service lacked flavour and character.
Disappointed. I had gone there twice before and loved it! Unfortunately this time, it was disappointing. The food quality was poor. It was actually difficult to eat a couple of the sandwiches and desserts. Love the atmosphere and the service. 50 plus for the little mediocre servings was not value for the money. Don't think I'll be returning.
Reading all the other reviews I think I definitely had a much better experience. My friend and I just went this past weekend and had a lovely time. We were late for our reservation and they still took us right to our table. It was quit busy too. No wait time at all. They checked on us regularly and packed up everything for us. The tea selection was laid out well on the menu. Good choices, a lot of high tea places don’t have many kinds. The layout was gorgeous with the floral patterns. However, I only got a white teapot, everyone else’s looked amazing. The team rooms are very nice. Staff and food overall great!
Desserts and food was great! Service as well. The place looks amazing and tea collection is outstanding! The only thing I didn't like it's the time limitation they have us. I would definitely be happy to stay celebration a friend's baby shower for a little bit longer. That's the only reason I have it 4 and not 5.
