The Consulate General of China is truly a shame. They don't response to email and they don't pick up phone calls. You better not expect that you will get help you from them. No matter how urgent your situation is, you have no way to contact them. I dont know what to say, hugely disappointed!

After reading some bad reviews of they don’t reply email or pick up phone, I was kind of concerned. However, I gave them a call today, a lady picked up right away and explained patiently with all my concerns! Really appreciate that !

worst government service ever. Nobody picked up the phone, the email is replied by automated message. I can not renew my passport for half a year (2020 Sep - 2021 Mar), what a joke!

Just to share a touching story of how the China consulate in Toronto helped me out in an emergency. My father was sick in China and I applied for a visa. I was moved as I wasn’t charged the application fee. I thought I got everything ready and flew to the Vancouver airport. Not until then did I realize that my COVID testing result had to be assessed by the Toronto consulate as required by the airline. It happened to be on Sunday and the airplane was going to take off in less an hour. I dialed the consulate emergency help line and the person who received the phone call acted in an amazingly fast manner. He made an arrangement and had it done just in time. In the process, I dialed the number again and again to check the progress and he was very patient every time. I deeply appreciate the effort of all the people involved in the process. Great services. Thanks to you all. Wish you all the best.
