This statue was designed by Emanuel Hahn in 1933 rests on white granite blocks that are shaped so that water collects at the base. Brilliant as Beck is the driver of hydroelectricity in Ontario. Inscribed on the granite are the places of hydroelectric generation at the time of the statue; Nipigon, Trent, Eugenia, Severn, Muskoka, Rideau, Nipissing, Niagara, Queenston-Chippewa.
