Warm, caring, nurturing and fun! My daughter (H) was lucky enough to attend \One Step at a Time\ from the age of 2 to 4. From day one, we were impressed with the high level of care provided by all the staff there - H had a warm and loving relationship with each of them. Her social skills developed and expanded, and she made some very good friends (not to mention she miraculously ate salads at daycare that she would never try at home!) I will always remember one teacher coming up to me in our first week to give me some helpful advice on ways to make those first hard drop offs smoother and easier. She asked what H's favourite things were, and when told that she loved books, suggested that H bring in one of her favourite books to daycare, and that they would read it aloud for story time. This made H feel very special, and it was wonderful for a new parent like myself to have the benefit of the experience of a kind ECE who'd worked with children for so many years. It was great having the \One Step at a Time\ teachers part of the team helping to raise my child.

Wonderful place. My daughter attended both the daycare and preschool program at One Step At a Time. Its a lovely school with caring staff. The school is clean and the kids have lots to do. Children are priority at this daycare and I know they have chosen not to reopen during this time in the pandemic as distancing restrictions would make it impossible to provide a nuturing environment for the kids. I hope this facility survives so that my youngest child can attend.
An absolutely fantastic daycare. My son attended from 17 to 25 months old (just before COVID-19 lockdowns). The staff are very passionate about the children and enthusiastic when working with the parents. The director, Tina also works very closely with parents to make sure they are kept informed, and raises important successes and hurdles that our kids might be going through in an honest and professional way. My son had a fantastic time here and has learned a lot in this cheerful environment.
Both my son and daughter attended One Step At A Time and we really loved it there. The staff are attentive and nurturing and both our kids bonded quickly with their teachers. They offer great programming that includes art, music, and trips to nearby High Park. It's a small facility with one toddler and one preschool room (note: no infant spaces here) so you get to know everyone pretty quickly. They are flexible about scheduling and we were able to send our son part-time during my maternity leave. Highly recommended!
Very sad not to see consistency at this center. Staff comes and goes so fast that children and parents dont have a chance to bond with teachers. I also didn't like to see teachers doing more a cleaning job than enjoying their time with the kids. It might the reason they look so tired.
