Karen has made me feel comfortable to talk like no one has before. I feel at ease to work through trauma with her. She is very supportive and understanding.

I've been working with Karen for close to two years and while I feel that we made progress I have lost both my patience and ability to trust her. Trauma therapy requires a high level of trust and Karen has a tendency to step outside professional boundaries to advise me on non-therapy related items--no topic too big or too small--including medical issues/medications that most definitely do not fall within her professional sphere. I have been very open and vocal with her when I consider her to have crossed professional lines. We waste time discussing how to move on from that point and then she just does it again. I'm tired of using my time to work out her inability to stay in her lane. I don't solicit medical advice from a plumber and I don't expect my therapist to give me advice on oral surgery or taking the TTC. When she's working in her own lane she can be an effective therapist, unfortunately, when she goes off course, which is far too frequent for me, she can be difficult to deal with as she often doesn't read the room very well and doesn't know when to stop pushing her point of view.
Karen is wonderful and insightful clinician. Her approach is warm and non-judgmental, and she is very easy to talk to. She is skilled in a variety of therapeutic techniques, including EMDR. Working with Karen has been an invaluable experience and I would recommend her to anyone.
