You don't go to Itacate for stellar service or ambiance. This place has a laser like focus on the thing they do best. Mexican food. Most recently I had the carnitas and it was the highlight of my week. The meat melted in my mouth; the fat (which I normally find disgusting) was perfectly cooked and gave a delightful burst of flavour. The prices seem much higher than when I last went but it was still worth it. Some of the best tacos I've ever had.

This is my go to place for Tres Leches cake. I always go there to buy Tres Leches and this place has never disappointed me. It's freshly made and very delicious. Highly recommended!! Make sure to call them and find out if they have any left as these cakes sell out really fast.

The food is quite good, but expensive. The service is abysmal. The last time I went there, I was treated very poorly, as if I had personally offended the cashier in some way. When my order was finally ready she handed me my food whilst looking at her phone and told me goodbye, very abruptly...must be the latest Mexican style to disrespect people and expect them to keep coming back.

Brilliant Mexican food that provides the comfort of home cooking. Every time I think of ordering in food, Itacate is consistently at the top of my list. Prices are reasonable, portions are great, and the salsa can kick your butt oif you're not careful. Two tacos should be enough, but if you've got a big appetite, consider an order of flautas to share or for leftovers.
