I had an vasovagal syncope (fainted, basically) in response to the eye dilator drops used by the technician at my appointment today. I was not aware that this was a possibility, albeit a rare one according to what I'm seeing online, and wasn't warned about it by the technician, who was courteous and capable in every other way. About 5 minutes after the drops were instilled it hit me while i was in the waiting room. Overheating, followed by tunnel vision, weakness, tingling limbs. Scary. Debilitating. I couldn't move, sitting with my head in my hands, praying i would not be expected to move in the next hour. A few minutes later i was called into the procedural room. When my mom, who was luckily with me (for her own appointment) told Dr Margolis i had just fainted (I was only just recovering) and inquired into the possibility the drops were the cause, she was dismissed, and he seemed put out that someone would bother him with such trifles, not suggesting in tone or word that there was any truth in what she was saying. Maybe I'm the first case of this happening at this office, if so: Please understand this reaction is a possibility. The dismissal of confusing, scary, unpredictable things is exactly the last thing you want from a medical professional. I rated at two stars because the unbiased part of me appreciates the exam my mom got. Also, the receptionists were great to my mom and I, so theres that.

Reading these reviews shows people’s ignorance. I went and saw Dr Donaldson and Dr Margolin today for my first time. Yes wait times are long (we are already warned). Yes there’s no parking due to construction this is not their fault. Dr Donaldson was so kind and empathetic .. she took the time of day to explain stuff to me and was very patient and personable. Dr Margolin is knowledgable and very qualified considering he’s got a line up of people who need his help. Both of them helped me with a plan and made sure I’m on the right track and made sure I’ll be back to see them letting me know if I needed their help before the 6 month appointment to not hesitate to call that they’ll see me. That - I don’t find doctors saying often. Great intelligent doctors and fantastic people.

I like my experience with this clinic. Dr. Margolin performed Iridotomy to both my eyes and he was accommodating to my questions too.

Do you know what it's like when you are waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to get your name called in a busy waiting room? Multiply it by Five (5). I was there for 3.5 hours. The longest 3.5 hours in my life. I was overjoyed and relieved to walk through the exit.

Extremely long wait times, did not see very many covid safety precautions taking place (temperature check, sanitizing, over crowding for sure) and somewhat friendly staff...although no one was exceptionally kind in my opinion. In addition to service related issues like this, parking is terrible. They do not have a patient parking lot, and apparently you need to park 2 blocks away if you don't want to risk it. I did not, but faced an even greater risk for potentially getting a parking ticket. From my experience, there is more risk than reward so to speak. What also bothered me was that people who complained about the wait, seemed to suddenly be seen by doctors immediately. To me, there seems to be many exceptions to the wait but these exceptions are not very consistent with each other. Sometimes it was age related, other times people were being seen after complaining bc they allegedly had somewhere to be. I've worn glasses for 22 years and I've been to many clinics, this was my least favourite unfortunately.
