Decided to go into this place for a weekend brunch, and was surprised how busy they were. We got in just in time at 11:00am and by the time we were leaving 45 mins later they already have 2 parties waiting for tables. The food was done quite well. Got the cold meat appetizer which reminded me of spam, but tasty with the black vinegar. The crab Xiao long bao was super flavourful and had lots of soup inside. You can really get a good taste of the seafood flavour from the soup inside the dumpling. The wrapper was also super thin. The fried buns were nice and crispy on the bottom, but the filling can use some improvement. It was most bun with a tiny bit of pork filling, but it also had lots of soup too when you bite into it. Would have been better with some more veggies in the filling. The fried noodle was very solid, and had the wok flavour. The oyster beef and veggies was the least stand out dish. Flavour was on point, but it was very greasy. Overall it’s a great place for buns and noodles during lunch. They also offer an extensive dinner menu including seafood and Peking duck. Service was very solid. The waiters were friendly and welcoming, but just like other Chinese restaurants you have to grab their attention. I’ll definitely be back for their xiao long baos again.
Well we came to check this out because it’s among the very best in the Vancity area for Xiao Long Bao. It does not disappoint We had the steamed and the pan fried. Both were excellent in their own way I preferred the pan fried because the texture is fantastic. Add in some classic Hot and Sour soup too. Another amazing dish here.
The food was amazing! The best Shanghai noodles I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten a lot of Shanghai noodles. The Shanghai pork dumplings came fresh and hot. All the dishes were well-seasoned and tasty. The restaurant itself isn’t fine dining but I’m here for the food. Yum!
The food was good to try out but not my favorite shanghainese restaurant. The sauces and flavors felt a bit flat but was acceptable. If you want some simple shanghainese food, this place is suitable but if you want carefully curated dishes you could try somewhere else.
