Parking at the back but just one spot for a lucky customer. I have yet to see anyone use that spot maybe because it's not so noticeable? Otherwise there is street parking along E 23rd Ave and also around Glen Park. Have been here before for the banh mi, but first time for the rice rolls. I think there were about 15 for 9.50! Actually, after the two cold cut meat subs, we left the rolls for dinner. The subs were delicious as always with a good amount of meats, pickled veg, and greens. The west coast loves jalapeños and they can vary a lot in heat (as opposed to the bird's eye chili). Last time they were wicked hot but this time closer to green peppers. The bread was properly crusty as always. I'm not sure if they heat the meats or toast the bread or both but Thu Hien Deli & Sandwich Shop's subs are always slightly warm which is nice. Back home the rice rolls were delicious and fed four people as a side dish. The dipping sauce added sweetness and saltiness to the neutral flavour of the rolls, which mixed perfectly with the pork and mushroom filling. The crispy fried shallots were a great contrast. Next time I will try the shrimp and pork version which a lot of people recommend, and I and also interested in the Vietnamese Fried Cakes with Shrimp and Mung Bean that I never noticed before. I will also see if anyone lucked out with that rear parking spot ;-) Daniel

I love rice rolls, and this place was such a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t aware of them until a friend told me and I immediate went and got some rice rolls the same day. They have many different fillings, but my favourite remains to be the pork and shrimp ones. The rice rolls were thin and soft, and combined with the dipping sauce, I simply can’t just eat one. I like to add extra fried shallots on mine and give it that extra crunch. It also tastes great with sweet soy sauce. Their banh mi sandwiches were very nicely done too, but I think they can use more meat filling. Wouldn’t mind paying more. Everything on their menu is super affordable and their rice roll portions are huge. The store itself doesn’t have a lot of seating, half of the store is set up to sell other Vietnamese ethnic foods and snacks. The other half have a few tables and chairs but during covid it’s closed right now. The cashier serving me that day also knew how to speak Cantonese, i was pleasantly surprised. Overall, I’m quite pleased finding this place for rice rolls and I’ll definitely go back again.
Their Pyramid Dumpling (Banh Gio) is not fresh at all! I had bad diarrhea after eating it...
Clean and well stocked Vietnamese deli. Good place to get fresh vietnamese salads and rice rolls
A little more expensive than some of the other Banh Mi shops in town, but sandwiches are bigger and have more fillings. A very tasty sandwich on good crusty French bread. Would visit there again.
Da best. Authentic. Wham bam thank you ma'am style. True vietkkkong style
Only place I know of to get legit banh cuon. Tasty rice flour rolls stuffed with pork and mushrooms. Fried shallots and fish sauce accompany each container of banh cuon. Like most places the fish sauce is very basic. Lucky for me my dad makes the best fish sauce ever and I just use that one. Their cha lua (processed pork meat loaf) is very good as well and you should add it to your banh cuon (along with fresh herbs and bean sprouts). Overall would recommend.
The rice roll is the best in town! So flavourful! The portion is huge.
