Great place to get your phone fixed fast! I was dreading the Bell 2 month repair/loaner debacle, so my brother recommended Ash at The Smart Phone Guy. I went down and he fixed it in an hour! Very reasonable price too. Thanks Ash!
Very bad incompetent service! My husband took his cellphone to get it fixed and got charged 200 dollars, and within two days the cellphone fell apart. He took it back but the repair guy was going to charge him again to get it fixed! It’s criminal to be charging so much to do a bad job (not) fixing it and instead of offering to repair it, he was going to charge even more for the service should gladly do it for free! Update: I talked to the owner and he gave the full refund for the mistake his employee made.
This will be a little lengthy, I apologise in advance. I live in Skagway and this was the best repair place I could find on short notice. When we got to the office, it had odd hours that had us wait, but that was fine, when he showed up he was very nice and looked at the phone right away. We were told that what we thought was a battery problem was not, and that he would try to sort it out over the evening. He even offered to bring our phone back to Skagway for us the next day, since he had errands to run there. Instead we got three weeks of radio silence. Every time I called was a "bad time", or "I'll get back to you in a day or two". Finally we said we needed an answer, and that answer was "it looks like I can't fix it, so I'll wave the diagnostic fee and you don't even need to come up to Whitehorse!" I wasn't going to just give my phone up, no matter how broken it was. We drove up, picked up the phone, watched him hastily put the phone together, charged us 30, and sent us on our way. Once back in the lower 48, we found out he had gutted the phone for parts, and left screws missing from the casing. I really wish I didn't have to give a review like this, but the service I received was unacceptable. I would not have minded if the phone was not fixable, but to feel scammed like this was not appreciated.
There is a reason why noone recommends this guy. he buys stolen phones. he claims to fix non existing problems. finally fails to fix a simple screen replacement after multiple tries and creates new problems that forces you to buy a new phone. avoid this dude or not itll be your problem
I came in with a broken HTC and was told straight up that it wouldn't be worth what it would cost to fix it. So, I haven't actually got any service to comment on. BUT, the fact that he sent me away without charging me for a job he knew wouldn't pay off in the end says a lot about how he runs his business. I will definitely return next time I need a phone looked at
10/10 customer service honest price . I always recommend him when someone comes into my work needing a phone repair!
