THE ROBERTA BONDAR FOUNDATION Reviews | Rating 3 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

THE ROBERTA BONDAR FOUNDATION is located in Toronto, Canada on 660 Eglinton Ave E. THE ROBERTA BONDAR FOUNDATION is rated 3 out of 5 in the category non-profit organization in Canada. Founded in 2009, The Roberta Bondar Foundation responds to the recognized need within society to educate and improve knowledge of the environment in a way that stimulates interest, excitement, creativity, and responsibility. Inspired by her trip to space in 1992, Dr. Bondar returned to Earth committed to helping preserve the planet. Named by Time Magazine as one of North America’s best explorers and holder of the Concordia Medal, Companion of the Order of Canada and many other distinctions, Dr. Bondar has used fine art photography to explore the ecosystems and natural beauty of this planet and engage the next generation of leaders through experiential learning. “After observing the planet for eight days from space, I have a deeper interest and respect for the forces that shape our world. Each particle of soil, each plant and animal is special. I also marvel at the creativity and ingenuity of our own species, but at the same time, I wonder why we all cannot see that we create our future each day, and that our local actions affect the global community, today as well as for generations to come.” Dr. Roberta Bondar Through its 4 signature programs, The Roberta Bondar Foundation has worked with over 33,000 children and youth across Canada and trained over 415 educators, camp counsellors, and community leaders. The Foundation strives to get Canadians outside, thereby falling in love with the earth’s beauty and gaining a responsibility to protect it. To date, over 180,000 Canadians have experienced the Travelling Exhibition, which has been featured in galleries across Canada. The fundamental belief that underpins the work of the Foundation is “you have to love the environment to want to protect it.” The more we learn about our environment and experience it, the more inspired and better we become at actively preserving it.
