Great utilization of the space, nice skating track in the winter, amazing activities and food vendors in the summer, walk my dog through here quite regularly, well lit at night although it can be lonely around there late at night. Great spot, don't miss out on fort york and lawn area just north of the bentway

An amazing place to go any time of year. In the summer it's full of people skating and biking. In the winter they turn it into a skating rink!
This is our regular walk route. Its really nice and good park to walk, shoot videos. They also have an ice rink which is interesting. Walk around if u r in the area!
Very cool little skating trail in the heart of downtown TO under the Gardiner Expressway. Great ice--refrigerated so not slushy and surfaced by a Zamboni so nice and smooth. Lots of fun!
For those unaware this used to be a lot of nothing - open land to walk past or through, but in the past few year's they've made this really nice. The thing is it really matters what time of year you go here. During the winter it's great because a huge portion of it is iced over (and maintained with a zamboni!) where people can skate and they have fairy lights and skate rentals if need be. During the spring/fall/summer they have a bunch of different events here (like the Bentway Moon seen in the pics) as well as dance shows, and food/drink events. There's stadium type seating year round, and this is nicely runnable and walkable.
The Bentway is more dynamic in the warmer months with interesting programmes, a museum and lots of parks to the north along with Ft York. There are also a couple of very attractive pedestrian bridges over the rail tracks. These provide an interesting view of downtown. South from the Bentway one can access the lake front walking paths and Trilliam Park in Ontario Place. Excellent walking or cycling destination.
Skating is great. Long trail, music for the mood.
The Bentway located right under the Gardiner Expressway is a great spot for a fun outdoor skate. Commonly referred to as "skate the 8 in the 6", it is located right off of Fort York Blvd and a 2 minute walk from Lake Shore Blvd W and the CNE grounds. Accessible by streetcar and parking is located within 1 minute walk. The heated rest area are a great addition to help when it is really cold outside or even to put skates on. There are great views of the downtown core during at all times. A must visit new skating venue in the city.
