Nice place for a walk or picnic. You can fish there as well.

A nice man-made "lake" inside of Green Timber Urban Forest. It is stocked with fish and is home to many species of wildlife. Fishing is allowed, though I personally wouldn't eat anything caught here. I would be interested in seeing what water sample analysis shows in the water, as much of it is actually runoff from roadways, surrounding homes and businesses, or anything that goes into a non-sewage drain and can be directed this way. It is a major catchment, especially for areas to the south/south-west. It is the same thing as over at Hawthorn Park. The fact the water is road run off is one of the reasons you are supposed to stay out of the lake, and keep your animals out of the lake. The chance of infection is high, among a number of other issues you could get from essentially rolling around in or eating from a gutter/ditch/etc... This doesn't seem to be very well known, nor is it made obvious, or I bet people would rethink eating/swimming or allowing pets in the "lake".

Absolutely serene in the mornings. It's a hidden gem and should be that way. The birds chirping, beaver dams, occasionally can see a heron too. Hope the new sky train plan doesn't destroy this tranquility.

Takes about 10 minutes of leisure walk to complete the whole circumference of the lake by well-marked trails and canopy of greens above your head. The lake is open to fishing but no to swimming There are benches to sit on and few picnic tables.
