Random drop-in with a friend while in the South Point neighborhood. Ordered two chop chop cones. (Always a hit or miss for me.) Color, real scallop, distributed with perfect amount of rice and wrapped with slivers of cucumber. Even offered their own in-house soy sauce, delicious flavor on its own. Soy was not high in sodium! Will be back...pleasantly surprised.

Have been trying many Japanese restaurants recently in South Surrey. This is one of the better ones around here. I prefer matoi and nagano from Coquitlam given the price level. Pros, For nabeyaki udon, Chicken was seared and has a good amount of veggie. For beef don, definitely better than most of the other places we tried around here. But still not as good as the one from nagano in coq. For Chicken karage, similar to hanaya sushi but better as the nuggets are bigger and comes with a flavored mayo. Fancy wall behind the sushi bar. Con, Salmon kama shioyaki, it came out to be deep fried salmon neck. Shioyaki is salted and grilled. Not cured and fried.... Also, the English says grilled cheeks not fried neck. Might be good if you are having a beer though. Beef don was too sweet but will try it without the sauce next time. Other simple udons are too pricey, but I'll still try a beef udon next time. Only sells wild salmon, we prefer pacific. Fancy wall is hidden behind sushi bar and blocked by the chefs and random paper posted on it. Will come again to try their sushib next time.

My family has been coming here for years. The quality is getting worse on my last couple of visits. The tea is watered down to the point of being flavorless. The service was pretty poor today as well, despite being first & only people in for lunch. The server couldn’t take 2 seconds to listen. After finally indicating we could sit in a booth, waited until we had my 80 year old Dad settled to tell us we had to move to a different booth. In line with Covid policy at most restaurants, we wore our masks until seated. I sat down and ordered without a mask, no objections from the server, but after I was done eating was told I had to wear my mask ‘because I was done eating’. Huh? If that was the case why didn’t she mention it before? The rice on my rolls was mushy. Overall flavour less food. I assume I can’t be the only customer noticing the decreased quality overall.

Oh man, their sushi is soooo good! Rainbow rolls are my favorites now. We went there with my parents and kids. All of us enjoyed the food so much. It was fast to have the food. Customer service was excellent. The owner lady was very lovable. \u003c3 Look at my pictures, we order so much and six of us were so full, BUT it was under 100! Highly recommend and definitely will go back soon.

We've tried a LOT of sushi places because there are so many great ones in the area but Damiko is our go-to spot and never disappoints! Great customer service and great food.
