Five stars to me means greatly exceeding expectations. In my opinion, Belfor did just that. After experiencing a flood in our basement due to a back up in our stormwater system, our insurance company contacted Belfor for emergency services. They quickly packed up our belongings and filled three pods that were placed on our driveway. Unfortunately, our flooring consisted of asbestos tiling so we needed hazardous abatement work done. Belfor brought in professional trades for demolition and bio-washing that completed their work safely and efficiently. Of course, this was complicated by the pandemic so additional safe work practises were required. Once the emergency work was complete, it was time for repairs. The flooring, drywall, painting, mechanical and finish carpentry were well-coordinated and we were more than happy with the level of quality in every case. There were a number of opportunities for us to do additional work at the same time and Belfor was more than happy to coordinate it with the other work that was being done. Although the insurance process was slow, Belfor did an amazing job in making up time so that our place would be back to normal before Christmas. Every week, they were able to further improve their schedule. In the end, the pods were removed on December the 23rd!

I rarely write a review because quite frankly I am not impressed enough to take the time and effort it requires. If I do, then I try to make it very complete. When I read reviews, I try to determine the person’s qualifications making the comments. Are they based on facts and experience or are they expressing some sort of frustration. I am Definitely not trying to brag, just qualifying myself for my comments. I am a retired engineer who is a perfectionist with many years of hands-on technical and business experience. I hired many contractors during my years and was not overly impressed with most. Many lacked in-depth knowledge or lacked the foresight to see what ramifications their work might cause further down the road and adjust accordingly. Things like not allowing for moisture drainage in in a wood structure etc. This was not the case when dealing with Belfor from Surrey BC. We had a tree fall on part of our house which required extensive work. Lars and Rick (his foreman) knew their stuff and did an outstanding job. Beside rebuilding the deck there was a lot of heavy-duty work removing the cement and tile flooring first. Everything they did was done properly, professionally and to code. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. There were a lot of different trades involved and once they started, there were no delays between. I could not be happier and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Professionalism every step of the way from all contractors. Covid safety protocols in place. Problem solving skills on their part enabled smooth sailing for us. Tub overflowed during pandemic distractions was very worrisome but they fixed everything back to normal and we had a wonderful experience with the whole team helping. Five star company!
Belfor Restoration offered much needed reassurance throughout the stressful weeks following an escape of water in our household. Completely Covid compliant, they acted in a timely fashion, with seamless co-ordination, exceptionally competent tradespeople, and courteous and professional staff. We had worked with a different restoration company in the past but if we ever need a service like this again (heaven forbid!) we will call Belfor. We recommend Belfour Restoration absolutely.
Belfor was an extremely efficient company. Working with Trevor Smith was a pleasure. His team was always on time and did what was asked of them.
