I have had several shipments delivered by SURE" whether it's picking up Plexiglass sheets from Home Depot, to loading three hundred pounds of prime Pigeon feed from Cole Harbour and delivering them all the way to Cape Sable island without a hitch, or hint of an overcharge .... being from Toronto I am thrilled to have such an efficient carrier that can save me three hours of driving each way and for a pittance of what my expenses would be driving myself! (At 80? I'd need a motel/hotel, food and gas?? a definite no-brainer, shop SURE folks!

FYI...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...They will over charge you without your consent. I used this courier to transfer a shipment from Bedford NS to a retailer in Saulnierville NS...about a 3-hour drive. I received a quote over the phone for 40.00 for a shipment under 100 lbs.. I was also told the shipment would have to be transferred to another truck so it would take a few days longer..."if that was okay?" no mention of extra cost. I was told as long as my shipment was under 100 lbs the cost was the same...40.00. I was not asked if there was 1 box or 3...I was told it was based on weight. I decided to use this company as I was trying to support local...I have a great account with UPS and the cost to ship would have been 50. I gave my Visa number when the Sure Courier driver arrived to pick up the boxes assuming the cost would be what I was quoted over the phone...I was not given a total when I gave him my credit card. 143.99 was charged to my visa...without my consent. I called SURE and was told they had no recollection of the quote they gave me and that was the cost once they added the cost of the second truck on the bill (this would have been a 100 charge to drive under 100 lbs one hour). I then called Visa and was told if you give your credit card number to the company they can charge whatever they want...there was most likely nothing they could do but would look into it. When they contacted the company, magically they remember my phone call to receive a quote and told Visa they told me the quote was for the first truck and for only one box and that I lied about the quote they gave me...remember I could have sent this shipment for 50 in half the time with UPS. The moral of the story is....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...they are not honest....AND, the shipment was received damaged with several items broken...which I had to replace and pay more shipping. Doesn't always pay to use local...
Sure Courier is easy to deal with, friendly, on time and reasonably priced!
I have used Sure Courier in the past and was very happy with them. However, this time I was astounded with what happened!!! They were to pick up two pieces of furniture for me. I made the arrangements and gave the info. as required. They arrived with black greasy hands and then actually broke a part of the furniture before even getting it out of the store! They weren't coming to my home with it that afternoon, as I was told, but rather planned to take it in the opposite direction and add more items to the truck. I can only imagine how many pieces it would have been in by then! The part that bothered me the most was when the owner of Sure Courier told me...and I quote "...shipping is at the shipper's risk!" I think it's common sense the expectation should be that damage doesn't take place before the shipping even happens!! I didn't receive even an apology. I was REALLY surprised! :(
Sure Courier..they are great, reliable, affordable. I am realtor, another trip and another tank of gas is not where I want to be. I call these folks, they pick up in Halifax, take it to Chester or wherever, and I am absolved of one more thing to do. So, I give them a five. (One odd thing; they do not have an answering machine, but at least you know the human to whom you have spoken has heard you, loud and clear.
