Our group had an interesting encounter with this kayak rental and we will not be back. When we booked the time to kayak, the owner told us to arrive "around 10:30" as she would be assisting another group before us so she'd be a bit behind. When we were there at 10:30, she took us to the docks and was rushing us quite quickly into the kayaks without informing the non-experienced members in the group on what to do or what the safety equipment was for. We entered the water at 11am and she sent us off quickly yelling at us to get out of the way of the boats in the harbour while simultaneously instructing us to practice paddling. We set off for our 4 hour booking. The journey around Keats Island was nice. When we returned to the docks at 3pm, she was very condescending and passive aggressively angry that we were "late" to return and caused her to lose business. From the very beginning, the time of our booking was not very clear and the communication was very poor between when our booking time started and when we were expected back. She never told us clearly and then was nonchalantly upset. I would not return to this kayak rental service as we were not treated very nicely.

High-quality fibreglass kayaks that are well maintained and very clean. The first thing they did when we brought the kayaks back was clean them and rinse them out. Easy rental without much fuss or paperwork. I would rent from them again. Heads up, make sure you ask for a spray skirt as a bit of wind can make it very cold out there.

My father and I recently booked a fishing charter with Sunshine Kayaking and we had a great day on the water. Loretta was courteous and professional while getting us organized, and Greg is a very knowledgeable captain. I was a novice at salmon fishing and Greg provided a lot of helpful information and guidance throughout the day. I really enjoyed his approach, as he doesn't simply do everything for you, allowing for a hands-on experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for a fishing charter and we're already planning our next trip with them. Fish on!

My family booked a 4-hour sailing tour with Sunshine Kayaking for my husband's 30th birthday and it was a wonderful time! Our captain was very friendly and knowledgable of the area. The sailboat fit our group of 5 adults and 2 children comfortably (though more than this may be a tight fit on this particular boat so be sure to ask about the different options). We had to start late because there was a lot of traffic on our way from Sechelt to Gibsons and they still gave us the full 4-hours which was very nice and unexpected! The kids got to jump off the boat into the water and go swimming which they really loved. It was an afternoon to remember and my entire family had a great time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy some fun on the water and sight-see the area in a unique way!

Racist owner. Upon entering the deck to board the kayak, the male owner came in to help his staff member set up the kayak. I greeted him with a smile and a handshake. The first thing he told me was: "You can't kayak with a beard. You have to shave it." I asked him what my beard has to do with kayaking. He responded by saying he was just joking. Couldn't believe it. The safety floatation device was also missing on one of the kayaks. However, the ladies booking our appointment and setting up the kayak were pleasant to deal with. In response to the owner’s reply: I don’t understand how my beard is a safety issue. Furthemore, the comment made about my beard was not in the context of safety instructions. The safety instructions were thoroughly explained - I have no complaints about them. The comment made regarding my beard, however, was inappropriate, and made everyone in my party feel uncomfortable; it tainted the experience. Unfortunately, it was too late to get a refund. Perhaps, in the future, you may consider learning from your reviews rather than reporting them as “wrong and unacceptable.” Customer service does matter.
