Sunshine coast health centre is paradise... I absolutely love their all-encompassing mind, body and soul approach that is tailored to each individual. The staff is extremely friendly, professional and you can tell they all love what they do. The environment is designed to be the most ideal for rehabilitation of all types, not to mention the spectacular views and the plethora of concurrent activities offered. A place where you feel safe, comfortable and supported entirely through your personal journey to recovery and after returning home thanks to their alumni program. Thank you SCHC for helping me become the best possible version of myself and to continue evolving. Long Live the Legacy!

An important part my practice is about supporting Sunshine Coast Health Centre (SCHC) alumni that live in and around the Greater Toronto region in Ontario. I have regular interaction with members of this group and it is a terrific, ongoing source of feedback about the SCHC client experiences and new innovations in SCHC's services. All of the alumni I have had the opportunity to meet rave about the unique experience that SCHC delivers. The feedback was so positive I had to fly out and experience for myself. What makes the SCHC experience so unique and effective? Three things standout. 1) Environment: It is beautiful. But more importantly it is nourishing. Just being there is healing. 2) People: Ownership sets the tone. Staff understand and respect that each client is unique and deserves the opportunity to be well. Clients feel cared for. 3) Innovation: Status quo doesn't cut it at SCHC. They are not afraid to continue to challenge what needs to change in order to improve outcomes addiction treatment services. Management is leads with their hearts and enables the delivery of industry-leading, evidence-based results. There is no better place in Canada to begin one's sustainable recovery then SCHC. /Jeffrey Halliday - Founder & Principal Coach
I spent many days researching the right place to go and even after I found out my insurance would not cover the cost I decided it was worth it as I was in a bad place. Highly recommended treatment facility in beautiful Power River BC. I missed leaving there three years ago immensely. It is a comprehensive and organized program and if you are willing to do some work of your own and introspective thinking, it is even more rewarding. The staff and doctors are great! The alumni support dinners and visits every few months to Toronto was a way to connect but I was very anxious of attending at 1st, now I look forward to them and especially the always positive and exuberant Jayme. The other support meeting bi-weekly run by Jeff is also a great way to deal with everyday life stressors and also put our addictions and issues in context with always positive suggestions and even \grounding\ ourselves to get some peace even for a few minutes or an hour or so. Don't isolate yourself and get out to BC if you need immediate help or if you're an alumni, show up to the meetings for some hands on local love and care, plus just connecting live in person or by phone is helpful. You are not alone!
I found SCHC in June 2017. I was looking for a non 12step, long term, men only treatment centre. Having done the traditional 30 day centres based on the disease model more than a few times over the past 20 years I decided to try a different approach. I stayed for 90 days which was one of the smartest things I have ever done. Their philosophy is like nothing I had ever encountered and truly resonated. One of the beauties is the size. It’s pretty hard to get lost “ in the cracks” like the larger centres. The entire staff makes an effort on our behalf, from support staff to the owners. Everyone was truly interested in our recovery and it’s huge when someone can relate to what’s going on with you cause they’ve been there. I met some wonderful people who made a huge impact. The facilities are brand new and it doesn’t hurt being right on the ocean. It’s the first time I have ever left a rehab and not felt like a whipped dog. So to speak Mike Cameron Toronto
Without a doubt I say this is the number one program to attend for addiction and trauma in the country. This program I highly recommend if you are willing to do the working want to heal yourself. Arriving at the centre the welcome mat was laid out from the administration personnel who coord flights and accommodations before you arrive to the chaperone who meets you at the airport and stays with you until you depart for Powell River, and arriving at the centre you are truly welcomed with open arms from a very dedicated and caring staff. All the workshops were an asset to me right from the large group to the small group and the one on one sessions with your primary counsellor, small group and one one on one is where the hard work takes place a lot of crying but also a lot of laughs. This program is designed in away as to help you find what your true issues are and not just the side effects, but to deal with the WHY you turned to substances. All staff from the owner to the kitchen staff are truly awesome to all the clients that come here regardless of there background. The counsellors here are very dedicated to helping the clients to get well are do truly care for you achieving that but you must do the work. The program works when you put forth the effort to help yourself, there is no hand holding here as you are your own boss here. I am 53 years old and was disconnected from most aspects of my life emotionally, psychosocial, spiritually, This program gave me the life skills which I did not acquire through out my life, truly a very awesome program to attend. It is and was my honour to have attended this program and to have known such generous, caring, kind people here at the centre and that truly comes from the heart.
