Waiting for Covid to end as the interactive floor was unavailable - but still a great visit. We watched live performance on Grand Piano - Historic exhibits and ended with a fantastic lunch at the King Edward Hotel. Staff were friendly and make appointment to ensure social distance rules

Visiting was one of the absolute highlights of 2019 for me. The museum is so densely packed with incredible items of Canadian music history, it made me cry in a couple places, mainly the "Icons Hall" and the exhibit featuring Geddy Lee's basses. Some of the information on the placards were either out of date or downright false, and I feel there was a good deal of empty space that could've been filled with something, but neither of these points took away from my enjoyment one bit. I think it is easily one of the must see museums in Canada, and I can't recommend this place enough!

I didn't expect it, but it was a really great visit. (It was not today, though) They've displayed musical instruments by type, genre, and period. Also, the costumes of the musicians were displayed. That part was my fave one. I had no idea that I would see an exhibition about fashion at YYC. Another best thing was the fit music flows into the exhibition space with each concept. It was an exhibition where eyes and ears were pleasant. The touch screen and headset have been discontinued due to the COVID19, so you cannot hear the many instruments. Nevertheless, it was a great time for me. They often hold concerts, and I hope to visit again to listen to their concert next time. by @asella_de

We had relatives in town, and wanted to show off one of Calgary's unique attractions. Many places have zoos, museums, and fine public art. There's nothing quite like this place! It would be practically impossible for somebody to walk through this place without getting some sort of emotional music-related memory. The information displays and panels have just enough information to educate, not too much to become boring. They have hundreds of fascinating artifacts like musical instruments, costumes, etc. And it's all wrapped up in one of Calgary's most stunning architectural masterpieces. Our relatives were very impressed.

Touring the history of Canadian artists and music along with the history of different interests was very interesting. The architecture of the whole building inside and out is just incredible and I was stunned at every level. The displays of instruments and equipment throughout history was great. Most interactive displays are closed due to covid which is unfortunate but still appreciated, especially as ticket prices are decreased. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Covid shut down the interactive portion but the other four floors of exhibits and architecture were amazing. Finish with lunch at the King Edward Historic Blues Pub for Lunch.

Like any museum there will be parts that really interest you and parts that you might wanna skip over. But one part you must see / witness is definitely the Kimball theatre organ demonstration I believe it's 3 pm daily with a second show at 12 on weekends. It's a really great experience and worth the entrance fee alone. Plus you can see amazing relics and outfits!

Beautiful building and fantastic instrument artifacts. National Music Centre is a confusing name... "Canadian Museum of Popular Music and Technology" would be more accurate. I would like to see more carefully curated and in depth exhibits. The whole thing is dominated by celebrities and quite inconsistent. I feel like a national music museum should be more than a collection of cool gear and celebrity writeups. There are so many significant areas of Canadian musical culture that are completely overlooked and it undermines the credibility of the museum as a whole. Worth a visit but the gaps are big enough that the centre doesn't live up to its name.
