Our pup fell ill at almost 10 years old, and we needed an animal hospital to assess him. My initial meeting was with Dr. Peter, who (after an xray and ultrasound) diagnosed our dog as likely having stomach cancer, and that his condition was now palliative. He promised to call us in a week and see how he was doing, and knowing I was unemployed, took the price of the ultrasound off the bill. Thanks for that. Well, the next day our dog was throwing up and pooping nothing really but blood, and we knew what had to be done. We spent that day and the next without leaving our dog's side. The evening following, we returned to the Centre to have our family member euthanized. During these Covid times, they had set up a rather cold and industrial-looking room in the back so the owner can be with their pets as they pass. (I'm not judging the room - they are doing what they can during tough times) Our darkest day as a family, and we still mourn the loss a week later. Dr. Peter had offered to do an autopsy to confirm his findings, and the Dr. who put our dog down (sorry, I cannot remember her name) did so and called us with the results quite quickly to confirm that we did, of course, do right by our animal. Today, I received a condolences card from the center, including hand-written signatures of the staff and paw and nose prints of our boy that they took after his passing. During the whole process, all the staff I dealt with were very understanding and careful of my emotional state at the time. The price was reasonable for the services rendered and I didn't feel gouged. Only good things to say about this place, and after this experience I will not be going anywhere else. About the only thing I would change is seeing the stark reality of the freezers at the rear of the building. I understand this is not normally where customers are sent, so it will be nice after Covid when owners are no longer given such a harsh reality check on arrival.

Can't say enough positive things about this vet clinic. We are from Calgary and for the 5 years we've had our rescue dog, Misty, she saw a nearby Calgary vet for her annual check-ups. Our experience was fine there, until Misty hurt her hind leg last summer. The Calgary vet referred us to a surgeon that was going to cost A LOT just for a consult/x-ray - didn't even include the cost for surgery!! We decided to call Dr. Jodi at the ACC of Strathmore for a second opinion before spending the money. Dr. Jodi did the initial exam/tests and Dr. Rand took over when it was time for surgery. Both of them were so professional and caring. The quote we received for the full treatment was soooooo much more reasonable than in Calgary. Misty's case was particularly complicated given her unknown history prior to being rescued - she ended up needing a full amputation of her hind leg, which was very unexpected. Dr. Rand did a great job on the surgery (Misty recovered well with no issues) - we are so thankful for the care that he provided our Misty. She is doing great and still lives such a happy life! In summary, every person that works at this clinic is amazing and we won't take our dog anywhere else. 5 stars for both the pricing and the quality of care that they provide.
