Attended their 2018 summer camp. Young stuff is not caring and incompetent in what they do. They let children watch cartoons on a laptop twice a day while browsing the web themselves. Kids stay closed inside on a good weather, while school having new backyard playground. Educative part is ridiculous up to the point of showing videos where person reads the book, instead of reading it themselves. We planned to start the first grade next year but changed our mind after attending the camp. We were surprised to find out the place where administrative stuff is lacking basic communication skills and disrespect to the clients when you bring their attention to what is going on. In summary a money making facility with lazy stuff under the ‘private school’ umbrella. The only good thing for Kanata residents is proximity. Don’t read all those reviews that they write themselves. Talk to people and confirm information in this review. Find the better place for your children, they deserve more.

Kanata Academy is a wonderful school where the principle and all the teachers communicate with the parents on the daily basis and the kids are inspired and motivated by their teachers and peers everyday. As a parent, I don't have to worry about bullying and get to focus on what new potentials and dreams my kids discover as they grow and learn at KA.
Both children went to Kanata Academy for 8 years. The teachers and staff did an excellent job in preparing them for high school. Both are now in public high schools and doing extremely well. The class room sizes were always small enough for the children to get lots of personal attention. The Before and After school programs were instrumental in establishing great homework and study habits. My favorite part of this experience was leaving work early and going on the ski trips to Mt. Pakenham with both kids. Update. Son graduated from Carleton university in engineering in 2017. He was awarded the University Medal as top standing student in engineering and is headed to University of Toronto for a PhD in electrical engineering. Daughter is also graduated from Carleton. She studied Computer Science and Psychology. She too received the Gold Medal as top standing student in computer science in 2020. Very happy with love of learning that began at Kanata Academy
Our family has been apart of the Kanata Academy (KA) community for almost 7 years now. The school has always met the learning needs of both of our children. Our son is a proud graduate of KA. His teachers helped him to believe in his abilities and he has continued to go on and earn top grades - thanks in large part to the study skills and care that the KA teachers showed him. Our daughter is continuing to thrive in the KA learning environment. She loves the small class sizes and the individual attention she receives. Like her brother, she is also earning top grades. The principal and vice-principal take an active role in getting to know the students and have an open door policy. We feel very fortunate that we found this school and have been able to give our children a solid education in a caring and nurturing environment.
We love Kanata Academy. My kids are going to Kanata Academy for past two years and we are extremely happy that we switched to this school. My kids not only thriving academically but they are more confident, secure and more responsible. This is the best investment you can do in your child's future. They have zero tolerance against bullying and I think this is the only School where you can see practically implementing this policy. My kids are excited to go to School and talk about School all day on Saturdays and Sundays :), because they miss there other 'Family' which is \Kanata Academy\ :).
