Ethics ---- It's all about ethics. I run my own business and the success of my business depends on me being ethical to my clients. Several months ago I went in to buy cat food. My girlfriend went with me. We both were given small rewards cards and we were told the next time we bought food there we'd get money off our next food purchase. I went in to buy food today and my cat food was five dollars off, which is the reason I chose this day to buy it- it was on sale. I presented my card and asked for my discount (as promised) and I was told it wasn't applicable. They explained to me that the card was only valid for catalog items and other various items and that my food was already 5 off the original price. I bought the food anyway because I needed it and it was on sale. BUT, that's not what they told me originally. So what's the big deal...it's only a small discount anyway right? The issue is that they said one thing and did another. If I did that with my clients I'd be out of business in no time. I gave them their rewards card back...since obviously they don't carry any weight. In September, a new store opens called Pet Smart. It's a much bigger store in a much better location. Maybe the \SMART\ part about the new store is that they have ethics.

Can’t thank these guys enough. We buy all our dog food at Pet Value and are loyal customers. We bought a leash for our dog over 6 months ago. The leash happened to break and I brought it back to Pet Value to see what could be done. They replaced it without question and sent me on my way. I really appreciate their customer service and friendly staff. Thanks Melissa. !!
