Not only is this bed and breakfast one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen with stunning views of the town of St. Marys, the owners are hands down the nicest people I’ve met. Sitting with John and discussing his travels and learning about all the cultures he has seen in his life, gave me a look into world travels I have never been able to take on my own. Hands down, if you’re looking for a place to stay in the area, this is your spot. John was a teacher first and foremost and taught ESL before retiring. He’s pretty awesome and a wealth of knowledge both globally and locally.

Riverside B&B has hosted more than one community event at their establishment, which I have personally attended. They are kind, gracious folk who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Their home (with a beautiful covered front porch overlooking the Thames River) is known to be open to all, and where you will receive a warm welcome regardless of your age, creed, sexual orientation or nationality. John himself has lived in other parts of the world, immersing himself in different cultures. His stories are fascinating to hear. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend staying at Riverside Bed & Breakfast. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and fun. Beautiful inside and out especially the view from their front porch overlooking the Thames River and falls. A must stay place while in St. Marys.
I have had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. I cannot say that I have stayed here as that would be a false review. What I can share in my review is that John is a longtime resident of St Mary’s. He has built an outstanding reputation for being hospitable to all people. The legitimate reviews speak volumes to that end.
St. Marys is lucky to have people like John and Marie. Their bed and breakfast is one of the most beautiful homes in town, but made more so by their energy and spirit in all they do to welcome guests and involvement in the community.
Driving through beautiful St Marys this weekend reminded me of the terrible experience we had at this place. We inquired about a stay with an older gentleman and shortly afterwards I heard him talking to someone “I don’t want those people staying here.” I am Indian. I am Canadian. I understand St Mary’s is a predominantly Caucasian town. I should not be discriminated against in today’s world regardless of what town I find myself visiting. I felt embarrassed. Needless to say, we did not stay at this place, despite the beautiful setting.
If you are planning a stay in our beautiful little town Riverside would be a beautiful place to stay. The owners are wonderful people.
5 stars.
