I was a bit disappointed to see that the new locks, which seem to be built right beside the original ones, are operated with electricity and hydraulics. Modern times meet 1832. I guess it was inevitable. They've done a wonderful job with the surrounding area. Nice trees and lovely, colorful foliage.
