My fishing trip September 2020 with my buddies was enriched by the location and scenery of Jollymore Ranch. The accommodation was first class. Danielle was our hostess and she provided excellent meals along with preparing one of our caught salmon for a memorable lunch. Happy hour after a day on the river , watching the sunset was enjoyed immensely , an outdoor hot tub and fire pit would have made it a piece of heaven. A must see for a Canadian experience. The site is as grand as all who have written reviews have proclaimed. The scenery is spectacular with a view across the valley to Hudson Bay Mountain ski area. The town of Smithers accessible by plane from Vancouver has a warm and inviting main street with good shopping for sports enthusiasts and a superb coffee stand. The main lodge Pink Sky and the others, which I was fortunate to tour are first class in design and build. The attention to detail by our hosts is truly impressive from the espresso machine in the kitchen to the linen on the bed. For a family gathering or a corporate retreat there are a wide variety of spaces, for intimate conversations or larger meetings. These outstanding lodges have it all in abundance in the serenity of Northern British Columbia.
Jollymore is an absolutely incredible experience. As a repeat visitor I was prepared for the sweeping mountain vistas visible from everywhere on the property, from inside and outside. The weather was stunning and we ended every day with a cocktail on the grand deck adjacent the kitchen with an unobstructed view of the mountains, watching magnificent sunsets. Everything about the house is magnificent...from the huge kitchen and dining room to the beautiful ensuites and hot tub. This year we had the stellar addition of Danielle, a talented chef who sourced our dinner each night from local farms and served us up an amazing feast of fresh salads, vegetables and meats. She even cooked up a spectacular salmon lunch with a fresh Coho we brought home. Jollymore is an amazing way to experience the majesty of the BC mountain wilderness in luxury and comfort. I look forward to returning to this wilderness paradise.
Travel to Jollymore Ranch again, but with avid fishermen this time, we are envious of the thrill of a first-time-ever catch by my wife on my last visit! Boasting about the one that got away instead, we gather in the bar/lounge, playing pool in the walk-out basement. But not until after warming up in the adjacent spa/gym with grand views of the year-round snowy peaks above Smithers! It only gets better above as the main floor houses the vast living room with the jaw dropping fireplace and a dumb waiter down to firewood stored in basement garage. The gourmet kitchen with dual dishwashers, huge gas range, breakfast nook, plus island counter seating! Wow! Dining room for 14 people at least, with a Tulikivi soapstone fireplace that has a built in pizza oven separating it from the double living room! The king size bedrooms upstairs are stunning, each ensuite is perfection. There are 2 laundry rooms, one downstairs near the gym spa and one upstairs on bedroom level. It's an amazing house in every way. Whether skiing fishing hunting or hiking this is comfort beyond compare.
Wow! I had seen the Jollymore Ranch photos on the website, but the moment I crossed the threshold of Pink Sky Lodge I realized how much more it is ‘in the flesh’. The scale is awesome. The craftsmanship is remarkable. It is truly a piece of art. Living in the big city makes you forget how impressive - and gorgeous - British Columbia logs can be. Everywhere you look the details are a testament to how much heart has gone into this beautiful building. We had a wonderful time at Jollymore Ranch. Invigorated on the river by day, fishing for steelhead and coho; relaxing in rustic luxury by night in the company of friends.
Absolutely spectacular facilities and location. We spend 5 days there in September and can’t wait to go back. The building is stunning as are the sunsets and wildlife we got to witness while enjoying a post fishing drink on the deck.
Amazing place to run away for a vacation. Nature all around, great ambiance and remarkable food! Our fishing group could not have asked for a better experience. Will definitely be coming back for another unforgettable trip!
I stayed at the Jollymore Ranch last month with a group of friends. We had a fantastic time fly fishing for steelhead and cohoe on the nearby rivers. The property is truly awesome. The pictures do not do it justice. A 5 star experience. Thank you Peter for your vision and passion.
