Wow, the best thing we did this summer was call Ryan at Canada chimney. It's January, the fires rocking out the heat. Inspection was a dream because of his fine attention to detail. And we are do toasty and comfy. Ryan and Canada chimney do very good work, I would recommend to anyone who loves the warmth of wood heat.

This review has cost me 300, I am trying to save others from making the same mistake. I removed the chimney stack because my latest repair, was still leaking. I decided to call a professional to just finally get it fixed once and for all as by this point, I had spent many frustrating hours on my roof. I told the lady (wife) on the other end of the phone exactly what my situation was. She told me it was going to cost 300 just to get the guy to come and inspect. Like I said, I was frustrated & desperate, prior to this call, I had called 3 other Chimney Sweep companies to no avail. Ryan (hubby) showed up, had me sign that I was going to pay and within 10 minutes told me that the stove was 27 years old. (*I later learned that 20 years is the regular life expectancy of a wood stove.) This is the point where Ryan, being a so-called professional (knowing the natural life of a wood stove) could have said, the stove has to be replaced. And left, maybe without any charge. Instead, Ryan proceeded to waste the next hour & a half of my time taking measurements and pictures. He took 17 indoor and 7 on the roof. At the end of it, he told me that the whole system should not be used and had to be replaced….which he obviously could have said after the first 10 minutes! I do not trust this guy and would not recommend Canadian Chimney Sweep. This is a small new company to Vancouver Island, doing business like this he will not be here long….I hope.

Ryan came to my house and quickly came up with a solution for a headache of mine. He had a lot of information to give me about the repairs for my chimney and wood stove, I had a lot of questions for him and he had an answer for every one. He was able to make me feel comfortable before the work was done in what the scope is and how it should be dealt with, whether or not he did the work he still gave me the knowledge I needed to be able to take steps on the repair for my new home. Thanks for your time Ryan it was great to meet with you.
