Great spot. Even wind chimes on one of the nearby trees.
Vancouver based artist Douglas Coupland's strategically placed oversized red canoe overlooking the busy Gardiner highway by the edge of the bluff at Canoe Landing Park. The canoe is large enough for people to stand in, and the perspective offers an unusual vista of cars streaming past the city, with the CN Tower closeby and Lake Ontario a bit farther away.
It could be cleaner, like there's litter and dirt on the insides of the canoe that make you want to leave, but i guess that's everyone else's fault. i think the boat is a great place to sit.
Fun sculpture in the Canoe park. Not historically, accurate or realistic but you can step inside. Part of a park which includes a splash pad.
A Visual treat for photographers and lovers of public art - I stumbled across this public art while looking for the fort York Public Library - so glad to be an explorer of the city of Toronto - A Richard Trus review
