Doctors James Till and Ernest McCulloch the pioneers of stem cell science have been honored for their achievements with this sculpture. The art piece by Ontario sculptor Ruth Abernathy was unveiled in September of 2017 during the grand opening of the Center for Advanced Therapeutic cell Technologies. The sculpture serves as a reminder of the Great Canadian Innovation that happened here in Toronto about 60 years ago. These two doctors are considered the fathers of stem cell science.
