Terrible host with no integrity. We arrived to a cabin with no power and no heat and the host refused to return any of my messages. ( to this day I still have not heard a word and we have been home for 5 days). We had to spend the night in a hotel an hour away after we had just driven five and a half hours to get there. The home was at least 10 years older than the pictures showed and it was not clean by anyone's standards. As a matter of fact we felt it was so unhygienic we all washed our bedding before we went to bed on the 2nd night when power finally came back on. He charges between 500 and 600 a night and a 200 plus tax cleaning fee yet the home was not clean when we got there. Dirty bathrooms, stained carpets, dirty dishes in the cupboards, a child's potty seat covered in urine tucked inside of one of the cupboards in the bathroom, huge cobwebs in the corners, nothing had been dusted, chandelier light sconces are filled with dead bugs and moths that had been there for some time, deck was covered in pine needles and branches and debris had not been cleaned, barbecue was filthy, dishwasher doesn't work very well, microwave is duct taped together, closet door fell off in our hands, cupboard doors were off and just placed to the side or on top, very little toilet paper and one roll of paper towel that was supposed to supply 10 to 15 people for a 4 day stay. He boasts that it sleeps 15 to 20 but it honestly only sleeps 8. He has six or seven beds up in a loft that you have to hike a 10 foot ladder straight up and down that I do not see many people wanting to risk doing. Not a chalet by anyone's standards.

My family and i spent a week at son country chalet and it was Amazing! Its located In a perfect convenient area of scotch creek close to the grocery store and 2 minute walk to a beautiful public beach! We enjoyed our evenings around the camp fire and In the hot tub. The stars are soo clear at night its unreal! Also had alot of fun playing pool with a full size pool table in the living room and had great times on the massive sun deck. The house is absolutely gorgeous with a cozy log house feel and the kids had a blast playing in the loft area. I would recommend to stay at Son country chalet 100% if you plan on going to the North Shuswap! It's the perfect get away!
Our experience at Soncountry Chalet Vacation Home was unlike any other. We as a family agreed that this beautiful post and beam log home was one of our favorite family experiences we have shared together. The rooms were roomy and airy, which accommodated our whole family. There's a nice sized kitchen and situp bar area that gave us room to prepare meals and visit at the same time. Outside the sliding glass doors there is a barbecue to cook on and a huge wrap around deck to take in the morning and afternoon sun. For fun and leisure, there is a pool table, large jaccuzi tub, Lego for the kids and even adults to interact and even a lovely sitting area to read your favorite book or magazine! We were impressed that there are laundry facilities in this home and 3 full bathrooms .My advice is that you need to experience this vacation rental and explore the area for it's magnificent lake and surroundings. We have booked again for a family reunion again as our experience was like no other!
Not great! Pictures are from ten years ago.. the chalet is dirty and unkept! Also very poor customer service if your in need of anything
