I had an amazing visit to Salon You! And do every time I go! I felt very safe having my highlighting, cut and style. In fact, more safe than when out in the general public. The staff are professional and supportive and always ensure you are happy with your service. All protocols and steps are adhered to as directed by the Health Unit. Thanks again for an amazing experience!

I have been a patron at Salon You for serval years. I look forward to my appointments because I know I will be met with friendly, professional service. Melissa Hicks is my stylist. I always come away from my appointments feeling very happy with the results. These are some of the reasons why I continue to go back.
I went in for a laser hair removal consultation. After filling out some forms with questions about my medical background, I was asked what colour my hair is and what my ethnic background is. While the woman, Jen, was writing down my answers, she paused when I said ‘I’m afghan’ as if she didn’t even know how to spell it. I told her, other spas I’ve been to asked me many other questions, like the colour of my parents skin, and their eyes, etc. She said ‘I just know, because you said afghan.’ Not sure how that even made sense since we afghans range from blonde hair and blue eyes to black hair and black eyes but okay. I was dismissed and was told that she had to speak to a ‘the doctor’ to confirm whether their machine could be used on my skin. I assumed she needed time to google what ‘afghan’ meant. I myself have worked in medical spas most of my life and am aware of the fact that there aren’t any doctors standing by for consultations. Lol. She called me, eventually, to tell me that their machine couldn’t be used on me as I would’ve needed level 5. Whatever that meant. Over all, Jen, was very passive aggressive and RACIST. I decided probably as soon as I realized I was lied to over the phone about pricing, that I wasn’t going to waste my money on this place, but left telling Jen I would think about it. I suggest that these people who work here and present themselves as professionals, educate themselves first. If I wasn’t taught better, I would’ve humiliated her right there and then. I don’t recommend this place at all.
Kate did a great job cutting and styling my mop of hair that hadn’t been styled in about a year! The staff implemented covid 19 safety precautions and I felt safe in the mall. Definitely recommend this salon. I would also like to try the spa some day too.
I've always had great experiences at SalonYou but recently I feel they have stepped their game up exponentially. I always feel heard when I go there, and leave with exactly what I asked for or something that looks even better that what I pictured. Friendly staff that take Covid-19 safety protocols very seriously. I can't wait to go back!
The most inconsiderate salon ever ...I have biracial hair and we did a consultation with Jamie and she gave us the estimate and all, and she said they would call when the relaxing product was in, and then we would book my appointment. After more than a month we decided to call and follow up, and then they told us that "oh we can't get it in... sorry." Totally not cool as we were relying on them to do my hair and they can't even refer me to another salon that does black hair... clearly not a place for black women to go.
Booked an appointment for my 3 children a week and a half ago for February 23. I booked two of them at 1615 and the last at 1630. I even had a phonecall the day before confirming my appointments. We arrived at 1600 and all 3 kids had tgeir temperatures checked and were checked in. My first daughter was taken in and I was told that we had to stay out of the salon. I asked the stylist to trim her hair and her bangs, but that we were growing out some of her bangs and to just to a light bang and to leave the bangs from the back to grow out..... he cut them all and she was given very heavy bangs. We waited another 15 or so minutes and i asked the receptionist why they hadn't called my other children in. I was told they were behind- but when the stylist came to get her she apologized and said she wasnt aware that we were here. Her haircut was done in 10 mins and we waited again for my son to be called and at 1650 were told that he wasnt booked untill 1800!! So after waiting close to an hour we had one child not cut and another one with a less than satisfactory cut. Im extremely displeased
I have known Randy for a few years now and as I once worked for a local salon I knew what I wanted randy delivered and then some. He naileD the perfect colour and the cut was exactly what I wanted. I love this man to the moon! Funny, professional, he listens and executes the perfect style and colour. Can’t wait for my next visit!
