Small museum on the outskirts of Montreal displays the history of the country side from the 17th century. Some exhibits are in French, however the staff was very helpful translating, providing tours in both French and English. There are also interactive activities for kids, such as an archeological dig, teaching children how to unearth artifacts then use deductive reasoning to place it in the right time period. There are sometimes special exhibits as well. When visiting in Aug 2018, there was an exhibit on forgeries. Admission prices are reasonable (see picture of rates).

Very friendly staff with interesting facts about the history of our region, kids loved the digging activity
The museum is a very cool experience and especially with kids! The staff is super helpful and nice. The place is well adapted to handicapped and kids. It's a bit small but it's packed tight with objects. There is one guided exposition with a cool archeology activity!
Nice, small museum. Staff is very knowledgeable. The guided tour can easily take 1.5 hours, ehich is surprising for such a small place. The permanent exhibit retraces histrory through artefacts from the native americains through to now. There is a junior archeologist dig at the end of the visit, very cool, the kids loved it. Interesting for kids and for interested adult.
Amazing. The staff were really excellent.
