Our dear, dear dad had the great good fortune to be able to live out his last days with dignity at Riverview. He was well taken care of by the incredible staff on 2D who truly loved him. Ashley, Sheldon, Rachel, Ebele, Iona, and Mary Beth, thank you for making dad's last days comfortable. You truly are exceptional people.

We as parents visited our son in November, 2020 and we were very disappointed with the quality of care he was getting. He was in severe pain and he couldn't get any relief with the service provided. On Saturday, Nov. 21 there was no doctor available to administer him pain relievers. We asked many times from 10 am till 4 pm to see the doctor, but the doctor didn't come. Finally, at 4 pm an incompetent resident came, but we were expecting to see the doctor. There were other patient care issues we could see during our visit at this facility.

About a year ago I was visiting. I saw some of the geriatric residents had bruises, yes they have falls but this is usually due to understaffing and the residents trying to get to the washroom on they’re own. Afternoon snacks were cheap dollar store biscuits and staff would just put their hands in bags and hand them out. I also saw one staff using their foot to sharply shove a wheelchair with a resident in it. Unfortunately lack of proper funding, training and staffing is the provincial standard for the care of our frail and fragile elderly.

My father was in their care for two years. He was so well taken care for. He was always clean and fed well. They treated him with dignity right to the end. Our family is truly blessed his final days were with the amazing staff in CD1 wing

The staff here are all friendly, professional and caring. My short time here in the stroke ward was miles above what I experienced at the St B. They are not short staffed and care about you as a person and a patient. While at the St B. numerous people and staff gave high praise of Riverview and their work, making me feel positive about coming here. They encourage you to get out of bed and work towards a goal. Even watching the staff working with the more \difficult\ patients they were calm and friendly. The only downside I could find is the poor to zero cell reception, that I'll blame on the local carriers.
