Love this little park, great walking trail, equipment for the kids to play on, and volleyball nets in the summer. Also has a great look out over the river.
To start no one here answers the phone and instead tells you to use campingbooking.com well that site was down. So I called the support number and still waiting for a call back 10 days later. We pulled in to the site and guess what still no answer. We were able to book a site from the towns website, and booked the first spot available as we were in between places. Boasted about showers, bathrooms and laundry. Bathrooms were the only thing available, no mention of course anywhere on the website. Said there was WiFi, there was not. No camp host, no place to buy fire wood. 100% over priced for the service. Will definitely not be back
Lots of space, easy to get to conveniences, trails to walk by the river or a track if you'd prefer. A bird look out, and well groomed grounds. I'm a repeat visitor
I always stop here when traveling through Vanderhoof, BC. It's a perfect place to touch base with Nature...free wifi to check in. It's a glorious Bird sanctuary and has a nice trail along the Nechako River. Great for walking your dog or taking time to read a book. Has awesome picnic area, playground, large field for children to play...Camp & RV site, Out houses are well maintained. Close to the Hospital and Downtown Vanderhoof yet a very quiet spot. Photo taken from the Lookout on site.
We found a nice site that wasn't muddy(they had a lot of rain here) one could walk to town and to the lovely board walk they have in Stewart
This campground is fairly new, great sites, nicely angled for more easy backing trailers into sites. Sites are large, have firepits. Only concern would be the WiFi is only available at the office site, so no streaming videos unless you have your own wifi hub.
Lovely, fairly large, private campsites. Staff is friendly, although inadequate staff at maintaining garbage upkeep. Several campers over the two days we stayed there used their campfire pits to just dump their garbage, food and cigarette packages and butts. We had to get our site cleaned when we arrived. Then we had to put on gloves and clean the garbage that ravens had torn apart at the dumpster. The bags had just been placed on top of the bins, not inside. We also had to clean two other fire pits Saturday because of the food/garbage left in the fire pits. We didn't want bears keeping us company. Two attendants periodically driving around the campsite in a pickup but not doing any garbage maintenance. We also went to the office 3 times Saturday and once on Sunday morning to pay Saturday night's fee. No one is there to fascilitate. We shouldn't have to chase the staff to pay. Otherwise, a good campsite. It felt as though we were camped in a nice private garden setting.
